Vintage Maud Tousey Fangel child sleeping colored lithograph print in the original frame. Good Condition, aging apparent to the print.
Artist Biography : Maud Tousey Fangel 1881-1968 Maud Tousey Fangel was born on Jan. 1st. 1881, the daughter of a professor. She began drawing in earnest when she was a teenager & studied at Boston's School art director of Good Housekeeping, Guy Fangel, who gaveher her first commercial assignments & later proposed marriage to her. Their son , Lloyd, began Maud Fangel's fascination with drawing babies. She did more than 1500 pictures of him, before he was three. And later she would immortalize his face as the boy on the Cracker Jack Box. Many of her pictures were done with pastels, which allowed her to capture the movements of her young subjects. Most of her models were children from poor families, from orphanages. Unaware of this, one newspaper referred to these children as "glamor babies".
