Vintage ladies Benrus 10Kt. Rolled Gold Plated
wind-up bracelet wrist watch is in great working
condition. A few very light scratches on face, you
have to really look. Gold plating is in great looking
condition. Swiss Movement.

History of Benrus Watch Company:
Benrus watch company was founded by three
brothers from Romania, Benjamin, Ralph &
Oscar, and they started the company in 1921.
Located in New York city. The name (Benrus)
was created by the founders first and last
name (Benjamin & Lazrus). Benrus Lazrus and
was born in Romaina in 1894 and immigrated
into the USA with his three brothers. In the
1920's the demand for pocket watches
decreased, and so the Lazrus brothers saw
this as an opportunity to create affordable
wrist watches for the consumer. May 14th
1923, the trademark for Benrus watch
company was created by the three brothers.
World War II, was a very profitable time for the
company, and they produced high quality
wrist watches for our US Military service men.
1940's - 1950's watch production expanded. In
1977, the company went bankrupt and was
then sold to the Hampden Watch Company.
