Vintage silver overlay & enamelware cream & sugar tray serving set is in great-good condition. Some apparent areas where the silver plating has worn off. White enamelware sugar bowl has two small nicks. The creamer has one tiny salt & pepper nick. Detailed roses & sunflower flowers on both sides of each piece. Sunflower flowers on both sides of each piece. Measures: Creamer 4 1/2in. length, 2in. wide, 2.25in. tall, 2in. deep. Sugar 4 3/4in length, 2in. wide, 2in. deep. Tray 8in. length, 4 1/2in. wide.

Antique Forbes Quadruple Silver Plated Brides Basket

Antique Forbes quadruple silver plated brides basket
is in overall Fair Condition, especially for it's age.
Some slight aging & loss of silver plating apparent
around the handle in some areas, one layer of silver
plating loss in spots around the inner part of the
serving dish, slightly bent. Pictures shown above.
Marked on the bottom with a raised circle button,
and then another circle with the eagle facing to the
right, marked Forbes Silver Co. Quadruple 7 224.
This antique silver plated piece was made some time
in the 1890's time period.

Measurements: top of handle to the bottom 10in. tall,
& measuring the dish without the handle 3in. tall,
9.25in. long, about 2in. deep.

History Of Forbes Silver Company:
The Forbes Silver Co. was organized in 1894 by the
Meriden Britannia Co., a large silver manufacturer in Meriden,
Conn. USA. Forbes manufactured silver-plated hollowware.
The word "quadruple" indicates four layers of silver plating.
Meriden stopped using the word "quadruple" in its marks in
1896. Other U.S. silver-plate manufacturers dropped the word
by 1912. Forbes and Meriden were among the several
independent silver manufacturers that formed the International
Silver Co. in 1898.
